The Scout Association, to help promote and grow your local Scout group, Scouting nationally or both.
Find a compelling message – a short reason you can communicate to potential donors about your chosen cause. It must be inspiring and clear in order to raise the most money.
Use social media to promote your fundraising initiative.
Set a fundraising target and a date to raise it by. We suggest a minimum of £500.
Call on others to help you and form a fundraising team. Motivate and inspire them to encourage others to donate.
Prepare a short presentation about your fundraising challenge and submit it to the members of your local Trustee Board or your leader, covering:

three top tips that could help other fundraisers.

What fundraising activity you want to run
Where and when it will take place
Who it will support (the chosen cause/organisation)
What equipment or materials you will need

Create a clear outline or simple plan before moving forward.
Gathering equipment and materials
Preparing items to sell (crafts, food, kits)
Setting up tables, signage, and activity areas
Creating running sheets, job lists, or rotas
Practising the activity if needed
Make sure everyone knows their role during the event.
Design posters or flyers
Creating a digital post or message for social media/community pages**
Letting the Group or local community know
Making a short info sheet about the cause
Telling people how donations will help
Explain clearly who the fundraiser supports and why.
Run a stall or activity
Greet and support visitors
Take supervised donations
Help younger sections
Track participation, sales, or scores
Take photos or notes for evidence
Work as part of the team to make the event successful.
Count the money raised
Share the total with your Unit
Explain how the event went
Reflect on what worked well
Identify what you’d improve next time
Present your findings in a write-up, short talk, poster, or short video.
