You should aim to take part in your chosen activity for 6 to 12 months.
**The two competitions could be between locally arranged and between different Explorer units. The organisation of these competitions would count towards requirement 5.
Take part in a series of karting sessions.
Record your lap times and see how you’ve improved over several visits.

Attend off-road quad biking activities or dirt trails. This can be done separately or by residential trip / via Explorers.
Alternatively, set up a small obstacle course using cones/markers.
Practise control, braking, and cornering techniques under supervision.

Attend supervised motorbike or dirt bike training/taster sessions.
Focus on balance, throttle control, and safe handling.
Keep a log of your sessions and how you’ve progressed.

Take part in a junior racing track day or under-17 racing experience.
Learn about racing lines, braking points, and safe handling.
Record your experience and reflect on what you learned.

Enter at least two competitions such as :
Karting leagues / race nights
Quad bike races
Local challenges
Record your results and discuss your performance with an instructor then your leader.

Take an organisational role at a motor sport event.
Act as a marshal, timekeeper, or help with administration.
Do this at least twice and explain how you contributed to the event.

Run or help organise a Karting race within your explorer unit or between units.
